What's Your Fitness Mantra?

Sometimes we all need a little extra push to get, or keep, us working hard toward our goals- a fitness mantra can do just that!

A fitness mantra is any phrase, slogan or message that motivates and/or inspires you to:

  • Stay on track
  • Get up and go to the gym
  • Get through a tough workout
  • Work a little harder
  • Lift heavier
  • Stay focused
  • Say no to temptation

A fitness mantra will not only encourage you, it will allow you to replace negative thoughts or feelings with positive messages. Research shows that those with a positive outlook are not only healthier and more inspired to reach their goals, they are also more likely to exercise. Having a positive mantra can also help you better visualize yourself reaching success and can help you work harder to accomplish your health and fitness goals.

SO WHAT IS YOUR FITNESS MANTRA? Here are a few of my favorites. Share yours below!

Reflection Time

I can't believe we are entering the 3rd month of the year! Time is really flying by. Now is a good time to reflect on the progress you have made so far this year. Ask yourself: What went well? What didn't work at all? What needs improvement? Really analyze and find meaning in the answers to each question. Spend time reflecting on each situation and experience you've been through so far this year. Then, if needed, regroup and reorganize your goals. Reflection is also an opportunity for you to see progresses and milestones you have accomplished- which can be an awesome motivation booster.

I’ve been doing lots of personal reflections myself this year. I’ve finally realized why I used to give up on things I start fairly quickly (this blog being one of them)- FEAR. I fear people will not read my blog, or that they will not like what I post. This year I am all about being fearless so I am determined not to abandon anything I'm working on because it scares me most of the time. I like being an encouragement and motivator to others, so giving up on my blog is like me giving up on those who may look forward to my encouraging and/or motivating posts.

So take time the time to REFLECT and be on the lookout for more posts from me!!!

How Can I Be Better?

I came across this question in a book I am reading about building my business and I instantly knew I wanted to share this with you. This simple question should be hard to answer. I am still working on answering this myself. You will need to really sit down and first think of one thing you can do better (I have tons!). Once you have narrowed down what you want to do better, next you need to analyze what you are currently doing so that you can come up with ways to do what you are doing better. PLEASE WRITE ALL OF THIS DOWN SO YOU DON’T FORGET. One thing that makes this question so powerful to me is that you can apply it to anything- work, school, fitness, relationships, etc. So feel free to apply this question to numerous parts of your daily life. The more you can do better than before the more successful you will be.

For me I'm working to better my business. I have created this website as one way to build my business but am currently thinking of others. I feel that the more people know about me and the services I offer, the better my business will be. I'm currently still analyzing and brainstorming ways to be better so be patient with this process, you may not come up with a solution right away- and that's ok. I'm excited to see what I come up with- I'll be sure to keep you all posted.

So until next time, be better!

Be Fearless

Welcome to my website and to the first of many blog posts! My first post is about fear because for some reason making this website/blog and sharing it with the world scares me to death. Why? I have no clue. In trying to understand my fear of putting together this website, I really wanted to know what fear was. The best definition of fear I saw that was relevant to me was “an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.” Yes I think we can all agree that fear is unpleasant, who wants to be fearful all the time? Not me. What really stuck out to me was that fear is "a belief"- somehow I believe that this website/blog is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. I’ve created this unpleasant emotion and I am finally ready to conquer it! The blog is a way for me to face my fear head on so that soon this fear will be non-existent.

So what are you fearful of? I encourage you to pick one fear (we all have many), really try and understand the reason for this fear, then make a plan to conquer it! This will not be easy but I think we can all agree that the process will be worth it.
